The Trauma Recovery program , also called the T.R.E.E. program was founded by Janelle after experiencing complex-PTSD and looking for healing beyond what traditional talk therapy offered. "This is based on my experience of what trauma survivors need but isn't available. A sense of community you belong to, a safe place to heal, and integrating art therapy, somatic therapy, and sound healing all into one program has the potential to help individuals heal like never before."
There's this natural phenomenon in nature where one tree helps another survive by providing life saving nutrients and support. It's called inosculation, from the Latin word "osculari". I love having TREE as this program's initials because that's what we do - provide life saving support just like the trees inosculating. Also, nature is healing. I encourage you to hug a tree when you're feeling down.
My own journey through chronic pain, illness, and complex trauma led me to finding alternatives ways of healing, and eventually to becoming a Trauma specialist so I can help others heal. I primarily work with individuals who have experienced developmental trauma or medical/health trauma.
I'm a Trauma specialist certified as a Trauma Recovery Coach through the International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching , having completed an 18 month long program including observation and practicum hours. I'm also certified in Emotional CPR, Trauma Informed Care, sound healing, and through The Embody Lab in somatic psychedelic therapy.
I’m a social worker who is passionate about trauma-informed care and the importance of presence and compassionate witnessing with others in emotional crisis. I am trained in emotional CPR and am a certified recovery coach and Trauma Informed Care practitioner. I am a proud mother of 3 grown children.
"I spoke about things I never thought I would say out loud, more or less in front of a group."
"I was nervous about what to expect. Lynn and Janelle clearly care and thought about every detail to make you feel comfortable and accepted into the group."
"You never think you're going to cry this much, but I've come to accept that it's a part of healing and a good thing. It was good knowing there was a session on laughter to look forward to. That day the only tears were from laughing so hard."
"Anger is something I've kept locked away and didn't know how to process or let out. They showed me it is possible to trust myself and let some out at a time without going full Godzilla. Lol."
"It was interesting the different skills I learned and how to work with my nervous system and body to feel grounded and balanced. I liked learning things that helped me feel better without having to talk about my trauma."
"This program was exactly what I needed."
